Our speakers
Lauren Szczurowski, Vice President, Scientific Project Management, joined Altasciences in 2017 and has approximately 20 years of clinical trial management experience, including 10 years in departmental leadership and strategic growth. She began her career in early development managing Phase I/IIb multi-centre studies in healthy volunteers and patient populations, with a focus on CNS and infectious diseases. Prior to joining Altasciences, she was responsible for a team of clinical trial managers, overseeing more than 30 multi-centre global oncology trials ranging from Phase I to Phase III. A strategic and tactical leader, Lauren plays a significant role in driving Altasciences’ growth by managing team and system integrations and successful collaborations across the organisation.
Melanie Barth, Associate Director, Scientific Project Management, has worked in early phase clinical research for over 20 years. She joined Altasciences in 2014 as Associate Director, Clinical Operations and subsequently moved over to the project management team in 2018. Melanie has experience working on pre-clinical and clinical Phase I and IV studies. Her vast experience enables her to support a team of project managers and co-ordinators, using her problem-solving skills to execute projects efficiently and within budget. Melanie’s areas of expertise include training, site management, oversight of data services (data management, biostatistics, programming, clinical monitoring, and medical writing), and close collaboration with vendors.
