Manually preparing samples GC/MS or LC/MS analysis can be time consuming and tedious while typically involving the use of toxic solvents. Liquid-liquid extraction, clean up, analyte concentration and introduction to the analysis system can be miniaturized and accelerated leading to reduced exposure to solvents and improved throughput.
