Trends in technology transfer

Here, Roberto Formisano, Process Transfer Senior Manager, AGC Biologics discusses the nuances of technology transfer both from development to GMP manufacturing, as well as from a customer to a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO).

“The biggest challenges for tech transfer in our field are related to the critical timelines,” Roberto explains. He goes on to discussing the issue: balancing the number of batches that need to be manufactured to ensure sufficient and scientifically quality of data, with these timelines. 

Roberto also gives his predictions on the technology and manufacturing trends and priorities for the cell and gene therapy industry in 2024.
