IberoGEN has developed a test to detect COVID-19 for use on surfaces and wastewater in the hopes of aiding in the return to normalcy.
A company has developed a test to detect COVID-19 on surfaces susceptible to contamination.
IberoGen suggests the test could be used on handles, railings, switches, telephones and keyboards, both by comprehensive service companies and specialised entities. The enterprise also revealed the test is suitable for detecting COVID-19 in wastewater, which it stated is “an important aspect for controlling outbreaks”.
The sampling kit provided, according to IberoGEN, can be used by any person who follows the instructions. The company then analyses the test and provides results in three days.
The company concluded the announcement by stating the objective of the test is to facilitate a return to normalcy, by ensuring locations are free from the virus and preventing it from spreading. However, it cautions that the test is not suitable for detecting COVID-19 in humans, despite the analysis following the same standards established by the World Health Organization (WHO).
