Back for the 29th time, Achema 2009 will be the worldwide leading event for chemical engineering and the process industries. With 4,000 exhibitors from every continent, 180,000 participants from 100 countries and 30,000 executives, it is set to be a huge affair.

Some of the exhibitors include:

  • Thermo Scientific
  • Eppendorf
  • ETH Zurich
  • University of Newcastle, Chemical Engineering
  • GE Healthcare
  • Siemans
  • Merck

The theme of Achema is to have all products and services for the process industry on show, therefore providing a ‘shop window’ covering all breadths, depths and topicalities. Of course the event will also act as a meeting point and a forum for all the movers and shakers in the process engineering industry.

Alongside the exhibition a congress programme will take place. This will consist of 925 lectures, numerous special and guest events, podium discussions, expert talks and plenary lectures. This diverse programme will provide a multi-faceted, topical and high level look at process engineering.

Podium discussions with leading personalities from the fields of science, business and politics as well as many guest events, will round off the ACHEMA 2009 lecture programme.

Speakers at the congress will include:

  • K Langer, University of Frankfurt – Drug delivery with protein based nanoparticles
  • H Bettermann, University of Düsseldorf – Raman Spectroscopy for on-line in-situ diagnostics of chemical processes
  • H P Deigner, BIOCRATES Life Sciences AG, Innsbruck – High-Throughput Metabolomics
  • J Müller, University of Düsseldorf – Raman Spectroscopy as PAT tool in film coating

Special sessions will also be held on a wide range of topics including:

  • Industrial Biotechnology
  • High-throughput Technology
  • Ionic Liquids in Process Engineering
  • Microchemical Engineering
  • Nanotechnology / Nanomaterials
  • Process Analytical Technologies

Also after its successful debut in 2006, the round table sessions organised by NAMUR (International User Association of Automation Technology in Process Industries) addressing topical issues in instrumentation, control and automation techniques will again be a focal point at ACHEMA 2009.

Special Events
