Location
The conference and short courses will be held at the Indiana Convention Center, 100 South Capitol Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46225. All oral sessions, poster sessions, and exhibit booths will be located in the Convention Center. Corporate Member hospitality suites will be in the Westin and Marriott Hotels, located directly across the street from the convention center and connected to the center by skywalks.
The nation’s 12th largest city, Indianapolis has undergone a dramatic revitalisation that makes it a different place than just a decade ago. Indy combines cosmopolitan style and small-town charm. The downtown area offers art museums, zoo, shopping, night clubs and dining within easy walking distance.
Half the nation’s population is within a day’s drive of Indianapolis, which makes traveling to Indy by car an attractive option for many. The Indianapolis International Airport offers travel on 19 airlines and nonstop and direct flights to 39 destinations. And it’s only a 15-minute drive to the heart of downtown.
The downtown hotels are all within 5 blocks of the convention center. The hotels offer quality and reasonably priced accommodations.
The Central Canal includes miles of scenic walkways and other attractions, including:
- Victory Field, designated “The Best Minor League Ballpark in America”
- The Indianapolis Zoo, the nation’s only accredited combined zoo, aquarium and botanical garden.
- The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art
- Indiana History Center
- IMAX Theater
- NCAA Hall of Champions, highlights all national championships administered by the NCAA
Programme
The programme will begin with tutorial lectures at 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 3, followed by the conference mixer in the exhibition hall. Monday through to Thursday will be full programme days of concurrent oral sessions, poster sessions and workshops. New this year are the poster sessions that are scheduled before and after the lunch break, allowing up to four continuous hours for poster viewing. Internet access and the employment center will be located in the exhibition hall.
Conference finale
The conference will conclude on Thursday evening, June 7, with a gala reception featuring specialty bars (martini bar, tropical bar, bubble bar, wine bar and brew bar) and themed food and entertainment. The cost is $20 for each conference registrant and registered guest.
Guest registration
Guest registration includes the Welcome Reception on Sunday evening and continental breakfast and welcome presentation on Monday. The cost for guest registration is, again, $20.
