A discussion between experts Roger Haas, Head of Environmental Monitoring Franchise at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, and Ronny Zingre, CEO of MBV AG.
Roger: The pharmaceutical industry has exacting demands for microbial air monitoring solutions. In addition to following the numerous regulations, air samplers should not only be precise, reliable and robust, but also ergonomic, easy to disinfect, userfriendly and enable calibration locally. Nevertheless, you manage to meet these requirements with apparent ease. What’s your secret?
Ronny: The list of requirements is indeed long, but we have been specialising in microbial air monitoring for 25 years. Based on our global customer feedback, we have continuously perfected our MAS-100 microbial air samplers. From development to production, quality assurance and qualification at the customer’s site, we meet the highest demands for cleanrooms, isolators and restricted access barrier systems (RABS).
Roger: Reliable product quality is fundamental to our MAS-100 customers, which include some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Additionally, there is the acclaimed accuracy of the MAS-100 instruments plus some brilliant design features for cleanroom and isolator use.
Ronny: Our air samplers are designed to perfectly match customer needs; for example, they are designed to not disturb the airflow in a controlled environment. The MAS-100 Iso lines perform sampling isokinetically, without moving parts in the isolator or RABS and expel the sampled air outside the containment. Apart from product attributes, what would you say makes MAS-100 air samplers so successful?
Roger: I think their comprehensive compliance is crucial. The validation of physical and biological sampling efficiency according to ISO 14698 by an independent laboratory, product development according to good automated manufacturing practice (GAMP), business operations according to ISO 9001 and full traceability due to an ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory are what customers in the pharmaceutical industry need.
Ronny: That is why MBV highly appreciates its partnership with Merck; from new ideas, through product development, production, quality control, documentation, sales support and after sales service, it is our great partnership that ultimately results in customer value.
