PerkinElmer launches ChemDraw® cloud platform at 2016 ACS Fall National Meeting & Exposition

ChemDraw software moves to the cloud for enhanced collaboration among chemists and biologists…
What:
PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment, announced the launch of version 16 of its ChemDraw® software, the industry’s No. 1 chemical structure drawing tool.
The ChemDraw software now includes a web-based application allowing ChemDraw software users to access their structures from any location and to share and revise their documents in the cloud. In addition to new chemical smart features such as a new retrosynthesis tool, these new cloud capabilities also enable a new level of collaboration and freedom of movement inside and outside the lab.
The ChemDraw software also provides users of the ChemDraw® Professional and ChemOffice® Professional products cloud-based access to PerkinElmer’s E-Notebook™ software, enabling users to leverage PerkinElmer’s industry-leading electronic laboratory notebook (ELN), from anywhere on any device.

The ChemDraw and ChemOffice software now also offer optional subscriptions to the TIBCO® Spotfire® data visualization platform, which has been adapted to support many functions critically important to chemists such as compound selection and structure search.

Scientists across academia, government, pharmaceuticals, biotech, chemical processing, environmental, food & beverage, and oil production use ChemDraw software as their chemical structure drawing tool, and they use TIBCO Spotfire software for data analysis and visualization. Features of the ChemDraw version 16 software include:
- An enhanced retrosynthesis tool: for performing advanced analysis on a molecule to identify the reactions required to create a bond or set of bonds emanating from a single atom. Researchers can also designate the bond or atom from a molecule of interest to find which known reaction might have led to the formation of those bonds.
- Major improvement to the ChemDraw software Mac user interface
- The ability to search for compounds and reactions in the SciFinder® database from the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) directly from within the ChemDraw software without cutting and pasting.
